Buying Your First Server on OpenSysLab

September 5, 2026 ·

This guide walks through a first purchase end to end: choosing a product, setting its options, and paying.

1. Pick a product

Browse the shop or open Top Solutions to see everything ranked by popularity. Each product is a business app — CRM, ERP, dashboards, chat, and more — that runs on its own private server.

2. Choose the options

On the product page you set four things:

  • Version and edition — for Odoo products, pick the release (for example v19.0) and Community edition.
  • Server location — the region your VM is created in. Pick the one closest to your team.
  • Server spec — CPU, memory, and disk, priced per month. A trial or demo runs fine on the smallest; production workloads should use at least 2 vCPU and 4 GB.
  • Backup — No backup or Daily (7 daily snapshots kept for 7 days). Choose Daily for anything you care about.

3. Check out

Add to cart, then pay with PayPal. When the payment completes, the order moves to processing — that is the signal your server line item is ready to be started.

4. What happens next

Nothing spins up automatically. Go to My Account → My Servers, where your new server waits as Awaiting setup. You choose the AI vendor and enter your API key there — see the key setup guide — and only then does provisioning begin. You will not be billed for a server you have not started.

Common questions at this step

  • Can I buy more than one server? Yes — each order line item is an independent server. An order can even contain several.
  • Is the AI key part of the price? No. The server has a fixed monthly cost; the AI key is yours and token usage is billed by the model provider.

That is the whole purchase. The typical path from checkout to a running app is under twenty minutes, most of it unattended.
